AlkOutlet sells alcohol online with Magento. I first stepped in at my old job, leading a switch from ScandiPWA to Magento’s native theme and adding custom features. In early 2024 the client asked me to take full control: upgrades, fixes, and new requests — all on me.
Scope & Challenges

- Migration & Theme Swap: Oversaw the move from ScandiPWA to custom, Magento Blank based, theme for stability and easier custom work.
- Custom “Deposit” Product Type: Added EU bottle-deposit fees in checkout without breaking core logic.
- Age Verification: Built front-end prompts and back-end checks to block under-age orders.
- Ongoing Support: Took over after a gap, cleaned up bugs, ran major version upgrades, and keep features rolling out.
